Of course. The average daily highs and lows in Jerusalem on December 25th is 55 F high and 43 F low. I live at the same latitude as Jerusalem in Texas and sheep are outside year around, expecially around Christmas when the weather is so nice.

Remember, Jerusalem isn't New York, Totonto, or Moscow.

Why is it important to you for you to need a direct command "in the way that Paul states to keep observing his death, until he arrives" regarding Christmas?

There is no direct command in the bible to observe wedding anniversaries in the bible. Yet, Jehovah's Witnesses celebrate wedding anniversaries while at the same time they hypocritically condemn others for doing the same thing regarding God's birthday?

You would agree that is pretty twisted right?

Duran, I do apologize for mis-interpreting your question. In re-reading your post, I can see that you are not questioning the fact that God was born, only questioning scriptural support for the December 25th date.

The date of the Annunciation was celebrated by the Church since ancient times on March 25th, placing Jesus' birth nine months later in December, near the time of the winter solstice - December 25th.

jw's are not known for laughter.

there are the rare exceptions.

they are more known for their fear mongering and doomsday scenarios where "the dead shall come to be as manure on the surface of the ground from one end of the earth clear to the other".

But today the org. is a dull miserable place, where laughter is minimal, and an event as above described would be frowned upon, so not happen.

I have a vague memory when I was maybe 6 or 7 years old (1969 ?) of a young speaker who named his talk on the TMS on Thursday night, "Tarzan and the mean gorilla". I remember the laughter. He probably got in trouble for it. But, I never forgot the title.

Watchtower promotes the robotic, automoton types to positions of leadership. And those guys have about as much humor as a tree. They use guilt and shame as effective weapons against all things "inappropriate".

"All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being".

This is why he predicted that he would resurrect himself from the dead, while he was dead. He is the Creator and provided the proof as such in person, in front of his rebelious people, facilitated by a politician of the greatest empire in the world - Rome.

God's birthday will be coming up in a few weeks. Can't wait.
